TikTok rewards allow creators to earn money from views, likes, comments, and other forms of engagement on their videos.

However, sometimes these rewards may stop showing up or the program seems to not be working properly.

There are a few common reasons why this happens and several troubleshooting steps you can take to try and fix it.

Reasons TikTok Rewards May Not Be Showing

Here are some of the most common reasons why your TikTok rewards have seemed to disappear or are not accruing correctly:

Account Status Changed

TikTok routinely reviews accounts participating in its rewards programs. If anything has changed with your account status, such as being banned from live streaming, having violations on video content, or other issues, this can temporarily suspend your rewards.

Check your email and notifications for any messages from TikTok about your account status. If the status has changed or there are violations that need to be resolved, this is likely why rewards are not showing up.

Server or App Issues

Sometimes there are technical issues on TikTok’s end that disrupt services like rewards from working correctly across the platform. Issues like server outages or a bug in the app after an update can cause rewards to not show properly.

Check TikTok’s social accounts like Twitter for any notices of technical issues they are experiencing. If many users are reporting problems, it may be a temporary widespread outage.

Rewards Program Updated

TikTok often makes changes to improve and update how its rewards programs work. There may have been recent updates that alter requirements around minimum views, content types eligible, geographic availability, etc.

Review any emails or notifications from TikTok about updates to the rewards program. Ensure you still meet the criteria based on recent changes they have made.

Account Under Review

If your TikTok account has come under review by moderators, rewards can be temporarily suspended until the review has been completed. Things like suspicious activity or flags for policy violations may trigger a review.

If your account is under review, you would have received an email or notice from TikTok. Check your notifications and be sure to resolve any issues they flag to reactivate your rewards.

How to Fix TikTok Rewards Not Showing or Working

1. Check Your Rewards Status

In the TikTok app, go to your profile and tap the three-line menu button. Choose “Creator Tools” and then tap “Rewards”.

This will show your current rewards status, balance, payout history, and other details. Review the available info to see if any errors are indicated, if view requirements have changed, etc.

Specifically, check if your account shows a message like “Earnings are delayed” or “Rewards disabled”. This typically means your account is under some kind of review and earnings are temporarily on hold. If you see this, you’ll need to wait for moderators to finish reviewing your account.

Also, scan if there are any notifications about changes to the rewards program’s terms, view thresholds, content eligibility rules, or other requirements. Understanding these updates can help explain if you no longer qualify for rewards.

Finally, carefully inspect your recent views, likes, comments, and sharing metrics. Do the numbers accurately correlate to the balance you have – or should have – earned? Comparing your actual activity to expected earnings can signal if there’s an underlying tracking issue.

2. Confirm You Meet Minimum Requirements

As mentioned before, the minimum requirements for the TikTok rewards programs sometimes change. Confirm that you still meet the criteria based on your country, account status, content category eligibility, view thresholds, etc.

For example, make sure your account is still in “Good Standing” and not banned from monetization or live streams. Also, TikTok may have updated the minimum view duration to qualify videos for rewards, so validate your content meets new time thresholds.

Additionally, TikTok now requires creators have a minimum of 100k followers to participate in some rewards programs. Check if your follower count meets the latest standards.

Reviewing the official TikTok Creator Next news site is a good idea, as they will showcase all recent updates to monetization policies there. If you no longer qualify, you will need to modify your participation or account to meet the updated standards.

3. Review Profile Settings

Double check that your profile settings related to receiving gifts or rewards earnings are enabled. Under privacy controls, make sure options to get notified of gifts, add funds, and other relevant preferences are turned on.

For example, there is a setting called “Allow direct payments” that needs to be enabled for earnings deposits and balance additions to work properly. If your followers are sending gift rewards but you still have no balance, this is usually the culprit.

Also check settings like “Prioritize original audio” as this can impact how rewards are calculated for videos using licensed music vs original tracks. Toggling preferences related to data sharing, notifications, and discovery can also influence how rewards are tabulated.

Be thorough in evaluating any profile, privacy, or data permissions around monetization. Small settings changes could be interfering with rewards delivery if they alter what content or activity is measured for your earnings.

4. Reinstall the TikTok App

If your rewards have stopped showing up suddenly, try fully reinstalling the TikTok app. This resets local caches and updates to the latest version which could resolve software glitches interfering with rewards calculation.

In the app store for your device, find TikTok, choose uninstall/remove. Then reinstall a fresh version and sign back into your account. Give it 1 day while creating and engaging with new content to see if rewards properly accrue after the reinstall.

5. Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Enhancing account security often resolves issues with restrictions or limitations on monetization features.

Go to your TikTok profile > Settings > Manage account > Two-factor authentication

Tap “Start” to enable this feature and strengthen sign-in protocols. Provide your phone number to receive 2FA activation codes. This adds a layer of identity confirmation before allowing access for important account actions.

Once enabled, create some test content over a couple days to check if rewards begin showing properly again thanks to the better account protection.

6. Contact TikTok Support

If no other troubleshooting fixes seem to address the issue, you may need direct assistance from TikTok’s support team. In the app, go to your profile icon > Settings and privacy > Report a Problem to reach out to their help center.

Be as detailed as possible in your request. Provide your TikTok handle, a thorough writeup of issues experienced, timing and examples of missing rewards, screenshots of your analytics and earnings comparing expected payout vs actual balance, and any error messages shown. The more info you include, the quicker their team can investigate potential root causes.

Additionally, scour TikTok’s support site for an existing faq or article that matches your rewards issue, and include the solution did not resolve your problem. Support specialists can use this as a starting point in your ticket.

You may need to wait 48 hours for an initial response from TikTok, but keep an eye on your notifications for follow-ups requesting any additional details. Their troubleshooting team should be able to further investigate technical issues that may be disrupting delivery of your rewards once they dig into your support ticket.
